It all began with an idea. I was trying to spark a creative bug in my body. I started to think about life, vulnerability, and showing my true self after all the ups and downs of 2020 and 2021. I thought of my pandemic journey and what all happened during that time. Y’all, I got acne. ACNE. At the young but old age of 24. The job I was working required me to wear a face mask outdoors, which resulted in a lot of face sweat. Especially on those sweet cheeks (cheeks on my face). So, after all my thinking, I decided to do a self-portrait shoot but keeping my face all-natural to show that there is true perfection in imperfection. Which then sparked the name, Perfectly Imperfect.

Fun fact. I actually wrote a song a long, long time ago called Perfectly Imperfect. In a way, I wanted to pay a tribute to my younger self who had a youthful raw side to her and saw the authenticity in imperfection and beauty. I wish I could find those lyrics. I need to go on a search for that notebook.
